Message dated 4th March 2022

Dear Sirs,

As you are aware, the hostilities taking place in Ukraine have a significant impact on trade and the shipping sector.

On 15 February 2022 the Joint War Committee (JWC) of the London market already added Ukrainian and Russian waters in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov to the JWC Listed Areas as specified in their circular JWLA-028.

Considering the escalation of events in Ukraine and Russia, we are compelled to and herewith issue a 7 days notice of cancellation in accordance with clause 1.2 a. of Class FW – WAR for vessels trading to and from or remaining in Ukrainian and Russian waters in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, as identified in the JWLA-028 Added Listed Area

This means that there shall be no recovery under Class FW – WAR arising as a result of trading to and from or remaining in Ukrainian and Russian waters in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov with effect from 23:59 hours GMT on 11 March 2022.

This notice of cancellation is only applicable to all Charterers Liability policies who have an additional War cover as per Class FW -War of our policy wording.
